Gosport Business Awards 2024 - celebrating Gosport based star and rising star businesses!

The council worked in partnership with The News, 22Midnight and St Vincent College, along with headline sponsor StandardAero, to stage the Gosport Business Awards 2024 that were held at college's Jervis Gallery on the evening of Thursday 23rd May.

A total of nine awards were up for grabs this year to help showcase the wide range of businesses across the borough and the contribution that they make to the local economy:

• Independent Small Business of the Year (sponsored by The News)
  • Winner: Indelible Ink Custom Tattoo Studio
  • Highly commended: My First Steps and P&Js Cash and Carry
• Commitment to Supporting Talent in Business (sponsored by StandardAero)
  • Winner: Potential Group T/A Chill and Charge
  • Highly commended: Wickham Micro and Langdale Nursing Home
• Best Use of Heritage in Business (sponsored by Gosport Borough Council)
  • Winner: Powder Monkey Group
  • Highly commended: Lightship Restaurant (Boatfolk) and Adventure Prospect (Portsmouth Historic Quarter)
• Independent Retail Business of the Year (sponsored by 22Midnight)

The 100 attendees also heard from keynote speaker Mike McGeever, who shared insights from his entrepreneurial journey (including the advice don't ask for permission - just do it and ask for forgiveness afterwards if necessary!) and encouraged them to continue championing Gosport as a place to do business and visit.
