Grants and Technical Advice: A Reminder
A well maintained building is less likely to require expensive repair, and therefore it has a better chance of surviving to benefit future generations.
Owners and occupiers of Listed Buildings are expected to keep their property in good condition. To encourage this objective, normal routine maintenance is not subject to the consents referred to above. There are also incentives to repair and/or restore the building by the operation of a system of grant aid which the Borough operates. Gosport Heritage Guide No.3 gives further details. All applicants and potential applicants are requested to discuss their proposals with the Conservation Officer at an early stage, who can assist you with technical advice and suggest how specialists can be contacted.
