Youth Climate Action working group

The Youth Climate Action in Gosport working group will look to work with schools including St Vincent and those in the GFM, to raise awareness of what young people can do to reduce their carbon footprint.

Tasks will be decided by the working group but could include:

• The launch of a climate change app for young people through collaboration with the University of Winchester
• A climate change awareness day for all learners in Gosport - possible joint activity to reduce CO₂/Walk, cycle to school day

Initial project

The working group will initially be looking at supporting efforts to reduce waste in schools, including:

• Identifying schools that have been successful in reducing waste and create a case study resource for use by other schools.
• Increasing the number of young people involved in generating proposals/helping schools reduce waste.
