The Gosport In Bloom awards are designed to involve the whole community in caring for or looking after the place where we live and work and is the platform for our entry into the South and South East In Bloom Awards. Gosport In Blooms past successes in the South and South East In Bloom awards is a credit to all our entrants, friends groups and volunteers.

Possibly the most important aspect of any In Bloom Group is to stimulate interest in the next generation of gardeners so Gosport In Bloom also run a Schools in Bloom competition to encourage local schools to include gardening in their activities. The schools in Bloom competition is aimed at getting children growing food plants, providing a home for wildlife and stretching their creativity by adding art and sensory features to their gardens.

The benefits of In Bloom for individual and group entrants are;

  • An increase in local and civic pride and a sense of community and empowerment by engaging people in improving their community.
  • Safer environments for the enjoyment of local people and a reduction in anti-social behaviour.
  • Regeneration of run down and disadvantaged areas.
  • Long term improvement for the environment by addressing sustainability, resource management, conservation, litter, graffiti etc.
  • Positive effects on the local economy including increased commercial enterprise and increased tourism.

The Gosport in Bloom Competition is an inclusive horticultural, environmental and community campaign open to all residents, businesses, institutions or community groups within the Borough of Gosport.
The competition is aimed at improving the lives and wellbeing of everyone in Gosport through the creation of beautiful and productive gardens and landscapes.
So, if you love where you live and want to make Gosport cleaner and greener this competition will put the buzz in your bees and the boom in your bloom, to enter you can click HERE
