Freedom of Information
As part of the drive for greater freedom of information in central and local government, the Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires all public authorities to publish a "Publication Scheme".
The Publication Scheme is essentially a guide to the information that a public authority routinely publishes or intends to publish, so that the public has a single reference point to refer to when searching for information that they want to access from the authority. The Scheme will set out the information that is available to the public, explain how to get hold of it, and indicate if there is a charge for that information.
