2024 UK Parliamentary General Election

The UK Parliamentary General Election is being held on Thursday 04 July 2024. 

Polling Stations

Please check your Poll Card when it is delivered to see where you will need to go on Thursday 04 July 2024 to cast your vote in the ballot box, or you can use the Democracy Club post code lock up if you prefer.

Key dates and deadlines for voters at this election:

  • Thursday 30 May at 6:00pm - Prospective Candidates and Election Agents Briefing for the Election
  • Wednesday 05 June - poll cards delivery starts
  • Monday 17 June - postal votes (1st batch) issued ~ to all Overseas electors, Service voters with BPFO addresses and Crown employees overseas
  • Tuesday 18 June - register to vote by 11:59pm if you're not already registered
  • Wednesday 19 June - 5:00pm deadline to submit completed application to vote by post or postal proxy
  • Thursday 20 June - postal votes (2nd batch) issued ~ all Postal Vote applications received and determined before 4:00pm on Friday 31 May will be included in this issue
  • Monday 24 June - postal votes (3rd batch) issued~ all Postal Vote applications received and determined between 4:00pm on Friday 31 May and midday on Thursday 06 June will be included in this issue
  • Wednesday 26 June - 5:00pm deadline to submit completed application to vote by appointing a proxy
  • Wednesday 26 June - postal votes (4th and final batch) issued ~ all Postal Vote applications received and determined between midday on Thursday 06 June and 5:00pm on Wednesday 19 June will be included in this issue
  • Wednesday 26 June - 5:00pm deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate ~ if you vote in a Polling Station and do not have one of the acceptable forms of photographic identification
  • Friday 28 June - first day to issue replacement lost and spoilt postal votes
  • Thursday 04 July - Polling Day (Polling stations open from 7:00am until 10:00pm)
  • Thursday 04 July - last chance to replace lost or spoilt postal votes is 5:00pm
  • Thursday 04 July - last chance to apply for an emergency proxy vote is 5:00pm (conditions apply)
