Requirement for Design and Access Statements

From 25th June 2013 it is a statutory requirement to include a "Design and Access Statement" with planning applications for:

  • Major Developments, or when any part of the application site is with a Conservation Area for;
    • the provision of one or more dwelling houses;
    • the provision of a building or buildings where the floor space created by the development is 100 square metres or more.

The Council, in conjunction with the other Local Planning Authorities in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, has produced the following guidance on preparing Design and Access Statements which can be downloaded.
