Free community parties in Rowner and Seafield

Gosport residents, businesses, local groups and charities are invited to two free community parties taking place in Rowner and Seafield.

Gosport Borough Council is hosting a Party for Rowner on Saturday 2 March and then a Party for Seafield on Saturday 9 March, both taking place from 1-3pm.

Event details:

• Party for Rowner: Saturday 2 March, from 1-3pm at the Nimrod Community Centre, 17 Falcon Mdws Wy, Gosport, PO13 8AA
• Party for Seafield: Saturday 9 March, from 1-3pm at Lawrence Square, Gosport High Street, PO12 1EB

Hundreds are expected at both and everyone is welcome. Everything is completely free - including free ice cream, face-painting, snacks, drinks, arts, crafts and games, storytelling and more.

Local groups will be there showing off their projects and work, and there is the opportunity for others to join and run stalls, free of charge. If you'd like your group, charity, school or organisation to be involved then please call Tim Raw on 07901 100537 or email tim.raw@portsmouthcc.gov.uk

The parties are a chance for people to see and comment on the work being done as part of Gosport's Heritage Action Zone. This programme is led by Historic England, supported by the borough council to restore and protect Gosport's military heritage, from barracks and trenches to green spaces. Funding for these two events is part of Historic England's funding of the Heritage Action Zone project.

Gosport Borough Council Leader Cllr Peter Chegwyn said: "Our community parties for Rowner and Seafield are just around the corner, and everything will be free with lots for people and families to enjoy. We're expecting hundreds of people at both, so it's a great place for services to promote themselves, and registering your interest for a stall is easy. Come and join the fun."
