Gosport businesses set to benefit from free digital marketing training
Dozens of businesses will receive free training on everything from creating a website through to using TikTok, thanks to a new programme of workshops and 1-2-1 sessions starting this summer.
Group workshops for businesses
Gosport Borough Council has commissioned over 20 in-person workshops for businesses in the local heritage, tourism, and culture industries. The sessions will be led by marketing experts and will cover topics like:
- Using social media like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Tiktok for your business
- How to make the most of email marketing to reach your customers
- The importance of websites and optimising them for online searches
- Videography and photography for your business
- Creating easy graphics and promotional materials using Canva
The workshops run from August 2024 until March 2025.
Places are free, and can be booked via Eventbrite.
Resources and materials from the events will be made available online later.
1-2-1 digital marketing help for businesses
Businesses can also book personalised and in-depth marketing sessions for bespoke advice and training. These are also available by emailing Annelies James on annelies@22midnight.com.
Cllr Peter Chegwyn, Leader of the Council, said:
Using online platforms to reach communities and potential customers is vital for many of our small businesses to thrive. However, most don't have the resources to dedicate to developing websites or social media.
These workshops are a great chance for our heritage, culture and tourism business communities to learn from experts how they can make the most of their digital presence. We encourage all to get involved and make the most of these opportunities.
The project is supported by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and is part of a wider £1m programme to boost digital skills in the borough - including helping residents get connected for the first time and promoting heritage and tourism businesses online.
