The Housing Services Unit is divided into three main sections:
- Neighbourhood Management
- Property Services
- Housing Options
The following is a list of the staff that forms the Housing Management Team which has responsibility for the housing service we provide.

Operational Services is responsible for the day-to-day management of our Council Properties. The section is further divided into two sub-sections:
- Neighbourhood Management: this team is responsible for the day-to-day management of over 3,000 council houses in Gosport and in particular the tenants living in them. They are also responsible for the recovery of rent and charges for the Gosport Council tenants (current and former clients), garage rents (current and former clients), repair and void recharges and community alarm charges. There is also a Resident Involvement Team and it is their responsibility to ensure that tenants and leaseholders of Gosport Borough Council have a say in the Housing service and help us to deliver a high quality service and make improvements where necessary.
- The Older Persons Services Team: this team manage our sheltered schemes and support our tenants living in these properties. They monitor the welfare of residents and ensure they receive any help they might need and provide support in an emergency, seven days a week via the emergency alarm system. This team is also responsible for providing a "lifeline" service. This is a telephone based alarm system that is provided 24 hours a day, every day of the year, giving help, support and security to older vulnerable people living in the Borough.

The Property Services Team provides and supports the operational delivery of the response repairs, cyclical maintenance and planned programmes across the properties owned by the Housing Service. This team is responsible for the general management of the Council's (non-housing) property portfolio.

The Housing Options Service delivers free and confidential advice to those in housing need. They provide advice on a range of issues including the prevention of homelessness, domestic violence, rent and mortgage arrears, harassment and illegal eviction. The team is also responsible for verifying and maintaining applications to the Housing Register and garage waiting list. The allocation of all homeless accommodation for the allocation of Council and our partner Housing Association properties, assessment of medical and social applications, acquisition of properties for the Rented Accommodation in the Private Sector scheme (RAPS), reviewing tenancies for exit from the RAPS scheme, assisting those with support needs into supported housing and determining housing duty for homeless applicants. The Temporary Accommodation Team is responsible for managing the Council's hostel accommodation. The team also provides support services to all customers currently living in temporary accommodation for whom a support need has been identified.

No appointment is necessary to access the Drop In services at the Town Hall.

Monday to Friday - 9.30 am - 4.30 pm
Drop in will close between 12:45 - 1:30 until further notice
