Neighbourhood Services
The Neighbourhood Services Team is made up of the Neighbourhood Services Officers and the Cleaning Team. The Neighbourhood Services Team deal specifically with Housing communal areas, such as communal areas in blocks of flats and also Housing communal land use.
The shared purpose of the service is to help keep the local area safe, clean and tidy and to provide advice/support when needed.
Neighbourhood Services Officers (NSO's)
NSO's are a mobile team who support the Housing Service to resolve a wide range of estate based issues. They work closely with Housing Officers, Streetscene and our partner contractors to maintain and improve Housing areas. The team are responsible for a number of tasks within Housing areas throughout the Borough. This includes:
- Inspections of Housing owned land and Blocks, reporting defects and acting on issues.
- Investigation of fly tipping on Housing Land.
- Void garage checks and lock changes.
- Grounds maintenance of hard surface areas on Housing Land.
- Investigation of nuisance and abandoned vehicles on Housing Land.
- Weed spraying Housing Land.
- Investigation of ASB issues within Housing blocks such as dumped items and dog fouling.
- Estate issues such as minor repairs, fitting signs.
- Seasonal work such as jet washing and salting of paths in high risk priority Housing areas.
- Cleansing bin shed areas.
