2024 Borough of Gosport and the Police & Crime Commissioner of Hampshire Elections

Gosport Borough Council Elections for all Electoral Wards and the election of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are being held on Thursday 02 May 2024. 

Polling Stations

Please check your Poll Card when it is delivered to see where you will need to go on Thursday 02 May 2024 to cast your vote in the ballot box, or you can use the Democracy Club post code lock up if you prefer.

Key dates and deadlines for voters at this election:

  • Tuesday 12 March at 6:00pm - Prospective Candidates and Election Agents Briefing for the Borough of Gosport Elections ~ please click here for the online form to reserve your place
  • Thursday 21 March - poll cards delivery starts
  • Tuesday 16 April - register to vote by 11:59pm if you're not already registered
  • Tuedsay 16 April - postal votes (1st batch) issued ~ to all Service voters with BPFO addresses and Crown employees overseas
  • Wednesday 17 April - 5:00pm deadline to submit completed application to vote by post or postal proxy
  • Thursday 18 April  - postal votes (2nd batch) issued ~ all Postal Vote applications received and determined before 4:00pm on Monday 25 March will be included in this issu
  • Friday 19 April - postal votes (3rd batch) issued~ all Postal Vote applications received and determined between 4:00pm on Monday 25 March and midday on Tuesday 09 April will be included in this issue
  • Wednesday 24 April - 5:00pm deadline to submit completed application to vote by appointing a proxy
  • Wednesday 24 April - postal votes (4th and final batch) issued ~ all Postal Vote applications received and determined between midday on Tuesday 09 April and 5:00pm on Wednesday 17 April will be included in this issue
  • Wednesday 24 April - 5:00pm deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate ~ if you vote in a Polling Station and do not have one of the acceptable forms of photographic identification
  • Friday 26 April - first day to issue replacement lost and spoilt postal votes
  • Thursday 02 May - Polling Day (Polling stations open from 7:00am until 10:00pm)
  • Thursday 02 May - last chance to replace lost or spoilt postal votes is 5:00pm
  • Thursday 02 May - last chance to apply for an emergency proxy vote is 5:00pm (conditions apply)
