Planning Portal
Gosport Borough Council provides information and services about Planning in partnership with the Planning Portal.
The Planning Portal is an on-line resource for planning information and services set up to help anyone who wants to know more about the planning process in England and Wales.
The main sections of the Planning Portal are as follows:
The Guide section provides a brief introduction to the planning system and some explanation of why planning controls are important and necessary. It includes general guidance about the kinds of work for which you need to apply for planning permission and those for which you do not. It is intended for both householders and business people.
In the Apply section you can create electronic applications for Gosport Borough Council and submit them on-line. To use this service you will need to register with the Planning Portal and create a User Name and Password. You can also use the Portal's on-line applications service to purchase a site location plan to accompany your application.
The Appeals section provides information and guidance on the Appeals process. If you seek permission to carry out works to your property and your application isn't decided within a set period, or you get a decision from your local council that you disagree with, you have a right to appeal.
The Research section of the Portal is aimed at planning professionals and those with an in-depth interest in planning policy and reform. You can obtain information on many issues including the Government's Planning Reform Programme, Parliamentary answers and statements on planning matters and you can view copies of Planning Policy.
Every planning application needs a site location plan and block plan showing the location and boundaries of the site you are planning to work on. You can use the Planning Portal's 'Buy a Plan' service to ensure that you meet our requirements, whether you are a planning professional or first-time applicant. Click here to "Buy a Plan".
